New York · CheapestHours

New York has more than one market price.

Start with a supported NYISO zone. New York City is the initial view; it is not a statewide price or a Con Edison household tariff.

NYC, upstate and Long Island: choose deliberately.

NYISO divides the control area into load zones. The selector follows the ten zone codes currently supported by Search; NYISO also identifies Zone H (Millwood), which this tool does not offer. Zone J is New York City, Zone K is Long Island. Do not substitute NYC for an unsupported location and present it as a local price.

EV charging

Choose the zone, energy needed and waiting time. Review any utility charging incentive or TOU plan separately.

Laundry in an apartment

Compare a flexible home cycle. A shared laundry machine with a fixed charge per cycle does not become cheaper because wholesale electricity falls.

Custom load

Enter power and runtime for an energy estimate. Delivery demand charges and building-specific systems are outside the model.

A zone is a wholesale reference, not a ZIP-code tariff.

NYISO’s published map distinguishes the state’s load zones. Transmission constraints and different local market conditions can produce different prices. This page avoids declaring NYC “always the most expensive”: choose the relevant supported zone and compare actual observations. Times are shown in New York local time.

Before you run an appliance

Is Zone J the price for all of New York State?

No. Zone J is New York City. Select another supported zone when appropriate; the selector does not cover every NYISO zone.

Can I choose Millwood / Zone H?

Not in the current Search integration. The tool does not provide Zone H and should not label another zone as a local substitute.

Will this calculate Con Edison, National Grid or an ESCO bill?

No. It estimates the market-price component of a flexible energy amount. Supply terms, delivery charges, taxes and other bill items are not modeled.

Does the result include a guaranteed continuous run?

No. Inputting a runtime does not guarantee a continuous block of exactly that length. The tool also does not book or control a charger or appliance.
